Certidão Permanente integration

Pull your company’s official record into Limitada with just one code. No re-typing your NIF, registered address, or share capital. No documents going stale. Everything ready to share with banks, accountants, or anyone who needs to verify the company.

The Certidão Permanente is the live online certificate of your Portuguese company’s entry in the Commercial Registry, maintained by the Instituto dos Registos e do Notariado (IRN). Anyone with the access code can read it in real time: banks, lawyers, accountants, business partners. It’s the legal source of truth about your Lda.

Limitada plugs straight into that source. Paste your access code once and Limitada always has your company’s current data. No copies, no stored PDFs, no out-of-date versions circulating by email.

How it works

  1. Subscribe to a Certidão Permanente access code on the IRN portal if you don’t already have one. It costs roughly €25 per year and you can do it entirely online.
  2. Paste the code into your company settings in Limitada.
  3. Limitada queries the Certidão Permanente and imports the official data.
  4. Whenever your Certidão Permanente changes (new registered address, new manager, capital increase, etc.), Limitada reflects it automatically.

What gets imported

Limitada imports everything on your Certidão Permanente: company name and NIF (tax ID), legal form, registered address, share capital and its split, partners (sócios) and managers (gerência), incorporation and amendment dates, and the full history of recorded changes. Everything in the official registry is in Limitada, ready to be used in minutes, documents, and shared with your accountant.

Share the official record, painlessly

The Certidão Permanente access code is asked for constantly: by banks opening an account, by clients verifying the company, by lawyers in contracts, by entities deciding on financing. Instead of digging through an old email or taking a screenshot, Limitada gives you the Company Card: pick which fields to share (name, NIF, address, Certidão Permanente code, RCBE) and export as text, image, or PDF, ready to send.

Limitada also lets you store two access codes for the same company: the Portuguese one and the English one. When you need the certificate in a specific language (for example, a foreign bank asking for the English version), just pick which one to share.

Limitada's Company Card: selecting which fields to share (Company Name, NIF, Address, Certidão Permanente, RCBE) and the Copy Text, Image, and PDF buttons.

Who benefits most

Companies of any size benefit from always-current data, but the gain is biggest if you’re going through changes (moving the registered office, adding or removing a partner, amending the articles of association) or if you run several Ldas and want them all in lockstep.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a cost for the access code?

Yes. The annual Certidão Permanente access code costs around €25 per year and is paid directly to the IRN, via eportugal.gov.pt. Limitada only consumes the certificate; it doesn’t charge for it.

How long is the code valid?

The access code is valid for one year from subscription and can be renewed online at the IRN. Limitada keeps working normally while the code is valid; if it expires, just paste in the new one.

Can I share access with my accountant?

Yes. On the Pro plan you can invite unlimited users (including your accountant) with controlled permissions. The Certidão Permanente code stays secure inside Limitada; your accountant sees the official data without needing the code.

Does Limitada store my access code?

Yes, encrypted at rest, so that syncing with the Certidão Permanente can run automatically. You can remove or replace the code at any time in your company settings.

How do I share the official company data with a bank or client?

Use the Company Card inside Limitada. Pick the fields you want to share (including the Certidão Permanente access code) and export as text, image, or PDF, ready to send.

Can I have the access code in both Portuguese and English?

Yes. The Certidão Permanente can be subscribed in both languages, and Limitada lets you keep both codes for the same company so you can pick whichever fits the recipient.

What if I manage several companies?

Each company has its own access code. On the Pro plan you can add unlimited companies to Limitada, each linked to its own Certidão Permanente.
